You have just bought a DJI product and have no idea which app works with it. With the number of apps across DJI's range, picking the right one can be confusing. Let's break it down.
DJI Fly is the app you'll use for any of the latest Mavic, Mini, Air, or FPV drones from DJI. It is updated often and is what we would call DJI's flagship consumer app.
DJI Fly is compatible with the following drone series:
DJI Pilot is the enterprise app used with the Matrice series and the Mavic 2 Enterprise series.
DJI Pilot SE is a customised version of the standard DJI Pilot app and is exclusively deployed with FlightHub on a private cloud server.

DJI Mimo is the company's app for its latest handheld devices, except for the Ronin series. The app lets you control your phone gimbal, all-in-one gimbal and camera, and the Osmo action camera.
DJI Mimo is compatible with the following devices:
DJI Ronin is the company's latest app used to control its Ronin series of gimbals. The app handles gimbal control and firmware updates, and gives you more control overall.

DJI Virtual Flight is the company's flight simulator app for its FPV drone. The app lets DJI FPV owners practise flying and make sure they are ready to fly the real drone.

The Tello app is used to control the Ryze Tech Tello series of drones. This version of the app is standard and uses a simple interface to control the drone.
Tello is compatible with the following drones:
The Tello EDU app is a more advanced version of the Tello app with the added ability to code directly in the app. It is meant for an educational STEAM environment but can still be used by anyone with a Tello drone.

The RoboMaster app is used to interact with the company's RoboMaster line of ground-based robots.

DJI GO 4 was released with the Phantom 4 and is used to interact with some of the company's most well-known drones, such as the original Mavic Pro and Spark. The latest drones no longer use the app, with DJI Fly being the current option.
DJI GO 4 is compatible with the following drones:
DJI GO is the app used with some of DJI's earliest drones. It was the first stepping stone for DJI and proved a great way to interact with a drone or gimbal. The DJI GO app only supports products released before the Phantom 4, which uses the DJI GO 4 app.

DJI Ronin Assistant lets you take control of your Ronin gimbal with ease. DJI no longer updates the app.

DJI GS Pro is an iPad-only app that lets you conduct automated flight missions, manage flight data on the cloud, and collaborate across projects.

To update the app, open the App Store, tap your profile in the top right, and a list of apps that can be updated will be shown. Tap update and you are good to go.
At the time of writing, all of DJI's apps have been removed from the Google Play Store, leaving sideloading as the only option. To do so, follow the instructions below:
You will not need to go through this process again to update the app. DJI Fly has a self-update feature that shows a pop-up when an update is available. We have not tested the rest of DJI's apps, but we believe the same approach is used for the apps still maintained by DJI.
