Practical skills to confidently tackle real-world drone operations.
The kind of training or licence you’ll need depends on how you’re planning to fly your drone. Whether you’re flying just for fun or for work, there’s a course that’ll suit your needs.
If you’re using your drone commercially, you’ll need a Remote Pilot Licence (RePL). For bigger jobs, you might also need an RPA Operator’s Certificate (ReOC).
No licence needed. Just follow the standard safety rules (check your drone manual for the details).
You’ll need to register it, but no need for a full licence.
Landholders (like farmers) can fly drones under 25kg without needing an ReOC. If your drone is between 25kg and 150kg, you’ll need an RePL, but not an ReOC.
If you’re not sure where to start, our ‘Introduction to Drones’ course is a great way to get up to speed – perfect for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills.
Your essential guide to mastering drone basics and operations. This course provides a comprehensive overview of drone operations, from general knowledge to mission-specific applications, helping you get started with safe and efficient flying.
Beginners, or those looking to refresh their knowledge. Whether you're new to drones or aiming to improve your skills, this course is designed for anyone looking to get a strong start in drone operations.

Get your business certified to offer commercial drone services. Our ReOC (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator’s Certificate) course helps you gain the certification needed to operate as a drone service provider. This allows your business to conduct a range of drone operations that are off-limits to non-certified operators.
By the end of the course, you’ll be fully prepared for the ‘Remote Pilot Licence Multirotor 25kg’ and the ‘Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate’ qualifications, ensuring you meet all CASA requirements for operating as a certified commercial drone provider.
Those running a drone business, unless using micro or excluded category drones, or flying for fun.

Expand your drone operations with Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) training. Our BVLOS Approval Training equips you with the skills to plan, execute, and secure approvals for BVLOS operations using the Specific Operational Risk Assessment (SORA) framework.
By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared to meet CASA requirements and conduct advanced drone missions confidently.
Drone operators and organisations aiming to expand their operational scope for tasks such as surveying, inspections, and remote missions.
2 days in-person training by an experienced RPAS instructor (theory and practical application of SORA training).

Nope. If you’re flying just for fun, there’s no licence needed. Just stick to the standard safety rules – you’ll find them in your drone manual.
- RePL (Remote Pilot Licence): This lets you fly drones commercially (for work).
- ReOC (RPA Operator’s Certificate): This is for businesses or operators running commercial drone services. Think of it as a licence for the company, while the RePL is for individual pilots.
Not necessarily. If your drone is under 2kg (Sub-2kg category), you just need to register it and follow the basic operating rules. No licence or full training required, but we recommend taking a basic course to get the hang of things.
- Introduction to Drones: 1 day (theory + practical)
- RePL Training: 5 days (mix of online theory and in-person flying)
- ReOC Certification and BVLOS Training: 2–5 days depending on the course
You sure can. If you’re flying on your own land and the drone is under 25kg, you won’t need an ReOC. If the drone is over 25kg but under 150kg, you’ll need an RePL, but not an ReOC.
Flying without the right certification for commercial use can lead to fines from CASA. Plus, it can invalidate your insurance. Better to get the right training and fly legally. Not sure where to start? Get in contact <insert form / link to form).
