Electrical Trade Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Electrical Trade Assistant to join our team. Working closely with licensed electricians, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across a range of residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the electrical trade and ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. You will be learning from experienced professionals every day, building the skills and knowledge needed to forge a solid career in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed electricians with the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components
  • Prepare work sites by setting up equipment, laying out tools, and ensuring materials are on hand
  • Run cables, conduit, and wiring under the direction of a qualified electrician
  • Support trench digging, cable pulling, and other physical site tasks as required
  • Maintain a tidy and safe worksite in accordance with electrical safety standards
  • Transport and handle electrical materials and equipment safely
  • Assist with fault finding, inspections, and minor repair work under supervision
  • Complete all tasks in compliance with workplace health and safety regulations

What We're Looking For

  • A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn the electrical trade
  • Ability to work safely and follow direction in a high-standards environment
  • Good physical fitness and comfort working in varied conditions, indoors, outdoors, and at heights
  • A current driver's licence (essential)
  • White Card (Construction Induction), or willingness to obtain one prior to starting
  • An interest in completing an electrical apprenticeship (highly regarded)
  • Basic understanding of electrical safety practices (advantageous but not required)
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first approach
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times
