Mechanical Trade Assistant

Location:
Sydney, Australia

We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Mechanical Trade Assistant to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you will work alongside qualified tradespeople to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment across a variety of commercial and industrial sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the mechanical trades. Whether you are just starting out or looking to grow your skills further, we want to hear from you.

The Ideal Candidate

You are someone who takes pride in their work and brings a positive attitude to every job. You are reliable, punctual, and not afraid to get your hands dirty. You thrive in a team environment and understand the importance of communication and safety on site.

You may be a school leaver exploring trade pathways, an apprentice looking for a new home, or someone with some prior experience in a similar role. What matters most to us is your work ethic, your willingness to learn, and your commitment to doing the job right.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified tradespeople with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment
  • Prepare work areas and ensure tools, materials, and equipment are ready for use
  • Handle and transport materials, components, and tools safely and efficiently
  • Carry out general labouring and site preparation tasks as directed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment at all times
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients on site
  • Support the team in meeting project deadlines and quality standards

What We're Looking For

  • A strong work ethic and a genuine eagerness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely under supervision
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks
  • A current driver's licence (highly regarded)
  • White Card (Construction Induction), or willingness to obtain one
  • Previous experience in a trade assistant or labouring role (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Excellent punctuality and reliability
  • A team-first attitude with good communication skills
